Your audition will consist of the following:
• A short interview about you! Especially past singing experience.
• Warm-up / vocalization throughout your range.
• Sing Danny Boy or My Country, ‘Tis of Thee (unaccompanied) — You may choose a comfortable key.
• A short sight-reading excerpt.
Successful Oshkosh Chamber Singers auditioners generally have previous choral experience, mature vocal tone, and competent music reading abilities.
Singer commitments:
• You are encouraged to commit to all concerts in the season.
• You must attend all scheduled rehearsals (see calendar.) Two excused absences are permissible; all other absences must be approved by your SATB section leader.
• Dues of $60.00 are required this season for music scores.
Singers are responsible for purchasing their own concert attire. We adhere to a “concert black” expectation. You are free to choose the components of concert black within the following guidelines:
• black button up shirt, black bow tie, black suit/tux jacket
• black dress pants, slacks, floor-length dress, or floor-length skirt with black top in matching fabric
• dress/top should have elbow length sleeves or longer, no cutouts, modest neckline
• black socks or black opaque stockings/tights
• black dress shoes
